Btw, the cached assets and presets stay in your hard-disk, unless you manually delete the cache, or indirectly via any disk-cleanup utility. Same thing for the Picture Tube tool, Preset Shapes tool, etc. However, once all brushes have been cached, activating the Paint Brush tool (or any other tool that uses them, like the Eraser tool for example) should be done almost instantly. This will indeed take a while, depending on your hardware and on the number of brushes you have in your hard-disk. For example, the very 1st time you select the Paint Brush tool, it caches all the brushes from your hard-disk. The delay when changing tools should depend on the tool you are changing to. In my experience so far, PSP 2021 is not slower than PSP 2020.
